Wir besitzen keinerlei Hinweis darauf, wo und durch wen die Uraufführung des Werkes erfolgte, noch für wen es komponiert wurde. Zu jener Zeit stand Herrmann unter dem Einfluss Louis Spohrs und Moritz Hartmanns; dennoch aber bezeugt die Komposition bereits Eigenständigkeit und gehört in die Übergangsphase von der Klassik zur aufkommenden Romantik. Dieses reizvolle Andante e Polacca füllt eine gewisse Lücke im solistischen Trompetenrepertoire jener Zeit. Die chromatische Klappen- oder Ventiltrompete ist knapp 20 Jahre aIt und hat die Versuchsjahre gerade hinter sich. Interessant ist in diesem Fall besonders die Tonart D-Dur, die für die Naturtrompete bevorzugte Tonart. Auf dem Wege zur Chromatisierung der Trompete unternahm man zahlreiche Versuche gerade auf dem Gebiet der Mechanisierung herkömmlicher Instrumente. Gottfried Herrmann was in aIl probability 20 when he wrote this work during his stay in Hannover (1827-1829). We have not been able to discover where or by whom the piece was commissioned, or for whom it was composed. Gottfried Herrmann was at this time under the direct influence of Louis Spohr and Moritz Hartmann. The writing is nevertheless already assured, and written during the phase of musical evolution when the Romantic era was being born out of the Classic. This Andante e Polacca, with its delicate charm, fills a certain gap in the solo trumpet repertoire of this epoch. The chromatic trumpet (with keys or piston valves) was scarcely 20 years old, coming out after a period of heroic efforts by inventors. Very interesting in this case is that the chosen key of D major is precisely the favorite tonality of the old natural trumpets. There were many attempts at mechanization (intended to chromaticize the trumpet) of the old instruments du ring this era. Nous n'avons trouvé aucune précision où et par qui cette pièce a été créée, ni pour qui elle a été composée. L'écriture est néanmoins déjà affirmée et s'inscrit dans la phase d'évolution qui va du classicisme au romantisme naissant. Cet Andante e Polacca au charme délicat comble un vide certain dans le répertoire solistique de la trompette de cette époque. La trompette chromatique, à clés ou à pistons, a à peine 20 ans et sort juste de la période héroïque des essais des inventeurs. Ce qui est intéressant dans ce cas, c'est précisément la tonalité de Ré majeur, tonalité principale et favorite pour les anciennes trompettes naturelles. Beaucoup d'essais de mécanisations (destinés à chromatiser les trompettes) se firent à l'époque sur d'anciens instruments. Gewicht: 0.176
